On September 13, 2025, Antananarivo took part for the very first time in the 24HourProject, a global initiative where photographers around the world “document humanity” for 24 consecutive hours. This year, 26 photographers from Madagascar joined the movement, stepping into the streets of the capital with one shared goal: to capture and share authentic moments of daily life, hour by hour, as they unfolded. As the official ambassador for Antananarivo, I felt deeply honored to live this experience alongside fellow Malagasy photographers and to represent our city on a global stage.
“Participating in the 24H00 Project was an intense human adventure, filled with emotions: joy, laughter, fatigue, sometimes even sadness and illness, but nothing could stop me from completing my mission of solidarity for children. I walked more than 30,000 steps, crisscrossed roads and trails, shared smiles, and captured unique moments. Thank you to the organizers for their commitment, to my partner for his patience, and to his wife for her kindness. It was an unforgettable experience, combining effort, passion, and hope, which makes me want to go even further to support this wonderful humanitarian cause. Soa Noro
The challenge was as exciting as it was demanding. Participants had to photograph and publish one image every hour on social media, weaving together a collective visual diary of Antananarivo in real time. We gathered a few hours before the project began, energized by the anticipation of what lay ahead. As the hours passed, the rhythm of the city revealed itself its struggles, its joys, its resilience through the lenses of each photographer.
By the end of the 24 hours, we were exhausted but deeply fulfilled. Beyond the personal accomplishment of completing such an intense project, we were proud to contribute to raising awareness for children living in war zones and crisis areas, which is the cause supported by the 24HourProject. The series you will discover below retraces the journey of September 13, 2025, seen through the eyes of Antananarivo’s photographers and shared with the world for the very first time.
